History of Rochester
Rochester is situated in central Northumberland, at the very heart of the Northumberland National Park. Today, it comprises two main settlements, the hamlet of High Rochester that is located within the walls of the Roman station of Bremenium, and secondly the settlement of Rochester about half a kilometre to the south, along the north side of the A68 road linking Newcastle to Scotland and the borders.
Because Rochester is right in the middle of Northumberland, it has some of the best veiws in the North East, slendid walks and fun for all. This part of the UK is becoming popular with holiday home buyers and when you see what it has to offer you can tell why.
